New print, just did it today! Didn't fit in my scanner so I had to take a digital pic of it :/ sorry. Doing some stuff with angels and demons in my painting class and it kind of floated over to my printmaking class. Kinda bummed at the moment because one of the more ambitious pieces I was working on got all fudged up because I left the plate in the aqua-tint acid too long and now it's all too dark. Hopefully I can fix it with some burnishing but it's PRETTY bad looking at the moment. Stupid acid... it's usually so weak but I guess they changed it to a stronger acid.
I'm just not destined for aquatint I think.
Back to THIS piece, It's lino cut on Kitikata (spelling?) rice paper.
Dang, that looks hard. Our art-for-non-artists class went over to the gallery to check out the stuff, the prints looked really difficult to do. I like the crazy smile on the demon guy!
The prints are actually not too hard to do. A little time consuming for a result that could have been easily drawn or painted but with this you can mass-produce and get cool effects You should try it if you can find a class for it! Me demon guy originally had a fang on him but then some guy during our critique said it made him a little too cliche lol So I carved the sucker off and Im pretty happy with him. Glad you like!

This has a touch of Escher in it - was he an inspiration? 'Scapegoat', or instance?
Very graphically strong- uses the medium's strengths to the fullest. Love it

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
